Very true. I started mine too early, and cutting out the first chapter was one of the best chainsaw edits I ever did. (Still chainsaw editing, based on, well, agent feedback. But the first chapter I managed to eventually figure out on my own.)
...and did he think that agents don't BCC themselves when there's a rejection slip? Bwah.
